The joy of searching for space objects is fun ! To be able to channelise this, I joined the AIASC and see what I really spot ! Astrophysics is also my area of interest and I was able to discover so many concepts while I tried my hands on asteroid spotting.
The campaign gave me access to real astronomical data from professional telescopes, like the Pan-STARRS in Hawaii. I was able to search for asteroids using specialized software, which is a type of hands-on experience usually available to university-level students. It helped me develop a range of critical skills like using advanced data analysis software, interpret astronomical data, and contribute to a global citizen research effort.
